Language-What are the benefits?

I do agree with Patricia Ryan. I agree with her opinion that knowing more than one language can be very useful throughout someone's life. Being bilingual is a good thing because you can communicate with other people & experience things you couldn't if you weren't bilingual. Only speaking one language limits you to speaking to other people, from learning new things about culture, and expanding your knowledge to the world. I am glad that the high school curriculum requires students to take a foreign language class because when they graduate, they are going farther into the world and are learning what else is out there & being able to communicate with others is very important to applying different & new experiences to your life.

In San Juan, Puerto Rico, thirteen people were charged with conspiracy to commit health care fraud. Jose Lopez Diaz, clamied he worked at a medical center and charged medicare for more than half a million dollars worth for services that were never served. Along with Diaz was his brother, Carlos, a dentist who provided Medicare beneficiary numbers for his brother. Others included Diaz's daughters, who filled out forms and received gifts for their father's work. Dr. Edgar Rivera Morales for overbilling medicare and reveiving almost $660,000 in return. There were more people involved in the crime.

kimberly's first blog entry

I hope to make good grades again this school year. My goal is all A's but we'll see.. I want to be apart of NHS so I'm going to do my best to keep my GPA up. I want to get a new job because i hateee the two i have now! I've never blogged before but I'm looking forward to doing something new. I think it will be a cool way to participate in class but I'm not very good with technology so I'm probably going to get frustrated a few times. I do think it could be a useful tool because I can see what my class mates think and it might give me a few ideas. I'm excited to learn spanish & looking forward to the new experiences throughout the semester! (:
